TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT TQM is an approach to improve the effectiveness and flexibility of a business as a whole ,it is a way of organizing and envolving the whole organization ie . Every department , every activity and every single person at every level. TQM has been defined through the following 4 aspects-; a)TEAM WORK AND PARTICIPATION b)MANAGEMENT LEADERSHIP c)STAISTICAL TOOLS,METHODS AND ANALYSIS d)PROBLEM SOLVING MANAGEMENT Simply TQM is a approach to education, to management and various operations ,which are design to focus and coordinates efforts of employees

CHARACTERSTICS OF TQM TQM IS CUSTOMER ORIENTED TQM REQUIRES A LONG TERM COMMITMENT FOR CONTINIOUS IMPROVEMENT FOR ALL THE PROCESS THE SUCCESS OF TQM DEMANDS THE LEADERSHIP QUALITIES OF TOP LEVEL MANAGEMENT AND CONTINIOUS ENVOLVEMENT RESPONSIBILITY OF ESTABLISHMENT AND IMROVEMENT OF SYSTEM LIES WITH MANAGEMENT OF ORGANIZATION TQM IS A STRATEGY FOR CONTINIOUSLY IMPROVEMENT PERFORMANCE AT THE LEVELS AND THE AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION is seen as the companies highest priorities .the companies believes that it will only be success full if its customers are satisfied. PROCESS MANAGEMENT- : Develop a production process that reduces the product variations. Applying the same process; the same product should be produces with same level of quantity every time. Teams are process oriented , and interact with their internal customers to deliver the required results. Management focus on controlling the over all process, and rewarding team work.
