slide 1: Get Zenned at Colombo Courtyard
The city’s exclusive boutique hotel located on duplication road has a fully-fledged spa which has
just opened and offers a wide range of body therapy treatments. “We are certainly leading the
way to create new standards for our segment the boutique hotel in the hospitality sector"
says Arun Thapar Managing Director of Colombo Courtyard.
The boutique hotel Colombo which is situated on a busy street in the center of Colombo is an
oasis for relaxation and bespoke treatment in addition to its unique rooms and specialized
restaurants. Its offering of a spa comes as a rare treat to the in-house guests who are looking
out for exclusivity and privacy.
Named the ‘Amber Spa’ it will offer Balinese massages as its prime product and as a specialty in
this area it has the famed hot stone treatment to enhance deep relaxation and experience the
healing powers of this age old detoxifying therapy.
Arun Thapar says that "We need to show the world that Sri Lanka is not second to any of the
hospitality products available in other countries. Usually boutique hotels have the concept of
concentrating on bread and breakfast formulas but we are pushing the Colombo Courtyard
beyond these parameters and succeeding.”
Amber Spa is not only for in-house guests but will be open to clientele from outside and
because they have invested in therapists form Bali it will be the real McCoy. The trained
therapists will be a genuine addition to the serene atmosphere created beside the pool and
lounge areas where one could relax with glass of lemongrass water to help in the detoxification
process and even have a range of fresh tropical juices to cool down under a stifling sun.
Arun Thapar says that it makes good business sense to keep adding these exotic components in
to what may be considered a smaller version of a resort hotel which when we finally bring
every thing together would harmonize in to a really stimulating experience which is right in the
centre of the capital city.
"We certainly think that the Colombo Courtyard CY experience with its Scarlet Room
restaurant Cloud Cafe and art décor which won us the “Best Hotel Interior” at the prestigious
international hotel awards in the Asia Pacific region would attract the discerning business
traveler” says the Managing Director.
Its one of a kind architecture and construction using sustainable environmentally friendly
material and recycled components such as brick floors doors and planters help differentiate
this boutique hotel as one that encourages its visitors to care for nature. The live bamboo
privacy screens decorative water features natural ventilation across the lobbies and walkways
LED lighting and use of indigenous plant species for shade speak volumes of the dedication of
this charming hotel to its environment. Arun Thapar says “Mixing business and pleasure is what
slide 2: we intend the CY experience to be and we are going the extra mile to provide more of that to
our guests.”
