“Break & Enter” Faith

‘Worked’ Faith ‘Works’ Faith:

‘Worked’ Faith ‘Works’ Faith

Faith or Works?:

Faith or Works? (Rom 1:17) (Rom 1:17) For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." (James 2:24) You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.

(James 2:17-20) Isn't it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense? I can already hear one of you agreeing by saying, "Sounds good. You take care of the faith department, I'll handle the works department." Not so fast. You can no more show me your works apart from your faith than I can show you my faith apart from my works. Faith and works, works and faith, fit together hand in glove. Do I hear you professing to believe in the one and only God, but then observe you complacently sitting back as if you had done something wonderful? That's just great. Demons do that, but what good does it do them? Use your heads! Do you suppose for a minute that you can cut faith and works in two and not end up with a corpse on your hands?

Works ‘Perfect’ Faith:

Works ‘Perfect’ Faith Faith honours God and God honours Faith (James 2:22) Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?

‘Break & Enter’ Faith:

‘Break & Enter’ Faith (Luke 5:17-20) One day as he was teaching, Pharisees (religious teachers) were sitting around. They had come from nearly every village in Galilee and Judea, even as far away as Jerusalem, to be there. The healing power of God was on Him. Some men arrived carrying a paraplegic on a stretcher. They were looking for a way to get into the house and set him before Jesus. When they couldn't find a way in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof, removed some tiles, and let him down in the middle of everyone, right in front of Jesus. Impressed by their bold belief, he said, "Friend, I forgive your sins."

Jesus says -:

Jesus says - If you have Faith -‘Say’(Mat 17:20) -‘Do’(John 10:37-38) -‘Come’(Mat 11:28-29)

“Faith without works cannot be called faith. Faith without works is dead, and a dead faith is worse than no faith at all. Faith must work; it must produce; it must be visible. Verbal faith is not enough; mental faith is insufficient. Faith must be there, but it must be more. It must inspire action. (Bible commentary)
