Who Are We? The Railway Labor Act was enacted in 1926 The National Mediation Board was created by amendments to the RLA in 1934 Airlines were added in 1936

RAILWAY LABOR ACT OF 1926 Oldest continuous Federal bargaining legislation in the nation Jointly supported by the railroad industry and its unions Legislation passed overwhelmingly in the House and Senate Signed into law on May 20, 1926 by President Calvin Coolidge
