The Treasure of Lemon Brown : The Treasure of Lemon Brown By: Walter Dean Myers Symbolism : Symbolism “the dark sky filled with angry, swirling clouds, reflected Grey Ridley’s Mood.” We thought that this quote symbolizes Greg Ridley’s mood and we also thought it could mean that something bad is going to happen or already happened. Symbolism : Symbolism “Greg had sat in the small, pale green kitchen…” We think that when it said, the small pale green kitchen, that it means that the person that lives in the house doesn’t have a very big personality, or isn’t very open but knows Greg well. Symbolism : Symbolism “His words echoed through the streets.” When we read this part we thought the character might be feeling alone or deprived since the street was empty enough that he could hear the echo. Symbolism : Symbolism “Another flash of lightning hit the ground with a thunderous strike.” We think that this quote means that something bad or unexpected will happen to make life harder for the character , or to make the story more interesting and intense. Symbolism : Symbolism “The building was dark except for the dim light that flickered on and off.” After reading this quote we thought that the author was trying to symbolize that something exciting was about to happen, and that it would be a big surprise for the character. Symbolism : Symbolism “The door creaked…” We thought this quote symbolized the fear that the character felt at that moment. Symbolism : Symbolism “Outside the wind had once again picked up, sending the rain against the window with a force that shook the glass in its frame.” This could symbolize reoccurring memory or feeling that the character was experiencing at that moment. Symbolism : Symbolism “My footsteps creaked on the old wooden floorboards.” We think that this quote symbolizes the intensity that they main character is feeling right now. Symbolism : Symbolism His black coat was all I could see of this mysterious man, for he was hidden in the shadows.” This symbolism meant as it says that this man is mysterious and could be hiding something. Symbolism : Symbolism “The night had warmed and the rain had stopped.” This quote could symbolize that a good change is about to occur to the characters. The End!!! : The End!!!
