Welcome! Welcome to Mr. Rabalais’s Health Class, I am here to teach; you are here to learn. I will do my job, you will do yours, and together we will use this year wisely and beneficially. Remember, a positive attitude is the key to success in life and in the classroom.

Rules of Behavior:

Rules of Behavior Always treat your fellow classmates in the way you would like to be treated. Give full attention to the teacher while he is talking. Always try your best and give Give careful attention to deadlines and schedules.

Entering Class:

Entering Class Enter the classroom quietly and make sure you have all necessary materials for class. Pick up any handouts for the day and go directly to your assigned seat. Get situated and ready for further instruction.

Dismissal Wait in your seat for the teacher to dismiss you. Remember the bell does not dismiss you, the teacher does! Clean your work area and collect any trash and dispose of it on your way out of the classroom. After you get permission, push in your chair and leave the classroom quietly and in an orderly fashion.

Classroom policies:

Classroom policies B e ready to learn. Act and speak in an appropriate manner. Respect the classroom environment. Always listen to the teacher/speaker with full attention. Ask permission to speak beforehand by raising your hand.

Homework You will be given homework assignments on a certain day of the week. They will be given at the discretion of the teacher and will be collected three school days after they are assigned. Make sure you read or listen to all directions and if you have any problems or questions, please see me no later than one day before the work is to be turned in. I will not answer any questions the day the assignment is to be turned in.

Tardiness Tardiness is not accepted in this class. 5 minutes to get from one class to the next is plenty. However, you will be allowed up to 2 unexcused tardies throughout the course of the semester. Any more than 2 will result in an afterschool detention.

Absences If you are absent, please try to contact me ahead of time in order to receive the classwork you will miss for that school day. You will have one class day after your absence to make up any work that you may have missed. If you miss a test due to an absence, it will only be able to be made up if it is deemed excused by the front office (see school handbook). If your absence is excused, then set up a time with me to make up the test within three days following your missed class period.

grading * Bonus point opportunities will also be provided throughout the semester*
