At ShareLife we also wanted to know the answer.
So we asked them, and catalogued the activities of the leading European countries and the USA.
ShareLife and the Department of Health (DOHA) costed the plan.
In 2008, our Government and COAG approved $151 million to implement the plan.
The aim was to use the plan to get our performance to 80-90 tmp. A world’s best performance.
The Australia Organ Transplant Authority (AOTA) was formed.
Now, 2 years later, we are only at 42 tmp,
So over 1,000 people missed out on transplants last year.
What do we have to do to get to 80- 90 tmp?
