The door to organ transplants Australia 30-40 tpm Performance in transplants per million of population (tmp) Spain 70-80 tpm Croatia 40-50 tpm USA 60-70 tpm In fact, our performance puts us 24th according a report by the Council of Europe (2010). How did Spain and the other leading countries do that many transplants ? Austria 80-90 tpm

Slide 3:

At ShareLife we also wanted to know the answer. So we asked them, and catalogued the activities of the leading European countries and the USA. ShareLife and the Department of Health (DOHA) costed the plan. In 2008, our Government and COAG approved $151 million to implement the plan. The aim was to use the plan to get our performance to 80-90 tmp. A world’s best performance. The Australia Organ Transplant Authority (AOTA) was formed. Now, 2 years later, we are only at 42 tmp, So over 1,000 people missed out on transplants last year. What do we have to do to get to 80- 90 tmp? JUST FOLLOW THE PLAN ! If you find this outrageous, Take Action Now click here to send an email to your MPs to tell AOTA to JUST FOLLOW THE PLAN !
