License Types:

License Types Substitute License You can obtain your Substitute Teaching License if you have completed an accredited teacher education program You can sub in long-term assignments for a maximum of 90 days Allows you to substitute teach on any level Cost: $75 Substitute Authorization You can obtain your Substitute Teaching Authorization if you have not completed an accredited teacher education program but must have a baccalaureate degree. You cannot sub in long-term assignments but can sub in an assignment for a maximum of 5 consecutive days Must complete a substitute training program through the Area Education Agency Cost: $85

Requirements::

Requirements: Whether you’re applying for a substitute license or authorization you must pass a background check, be fingerprinted, and have transcripts from your BS/BA or teacher training program sent to the AEA.
