Bangladesh is located on the Bay of Bengal in South Asia and is between Myanmar and India. Bangladesh is mostly flat but has a few hills in the southeastern area. Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. Wells in the area have high arsenic amounts. People in these areas are forced to go back to their unclean ways getting water from near by ponds. High amounts of diarrheal diseases killing many children and adults. Unclean water also causes, skin disorders and cancers, making children more vulnerable. 72 out of 1,000 people died before their fifth birthday because of water related diseases. Bangladesh’s population is 150,448,339. 45% of the population is below the poverty line. Access to improved water source 74% of Bangladesh’s population. The infant mortality rate is 59.12 deaths to 1,000 live births. Also latrine usage is very poor, only averaging 16% in rural areas. In Bangladesh, there is an urban crisis with population to growing to fast and slums (densely populated poor communities) are growing at an alarming rate. Some recommendations we have to help relieve Bangladesh’s water crisis are build even more wells in areas that have a large population, wells that the arsenic levels are low and curable could be treated by a sanitation system that the Bangladesh people build, give loans to people who are below the poverty line to help them get back on their feet, get children and teens more educated to help them get jobs for their societies benefit, and build a sewer system built by loans from other countries .
