About:
Chris Stonaker
Chris was born and raised in New York City. As he grew older his passion for the written word developed. His childhood dreams oddly included winning a Clio Award as a very close second to becoming Indiana Jones. He began to foster his passion to write after winning a poetry contest at 10, sponsored by General Electric. Although quiet in nature, he quickly realized he had a knack for attention grabbing and persuasion. These skills later were used in his prose and Verse as propaganda and satirical mechanisms.
In university, Chris became increasingly interested in the universal topics and revolving trends of literature and society. In particular, the Elizabethan era. His fondness for authors such a Marlow, Rochester and Herbert helped mold his writing towards the modern take on timeless themes.
Upon graduating, Chris moved to the Bronx and started working a myriad of jobs. Through years of endless days working he realized a few things; sales was in his blood, any situation can have a solution with a moment of thought and he could reach an audience he needed.
Currently Chris and his wife, Mary, live in the East Coast of Singapore where they are coming to the end of a successful and enriching teaching contract. During their free time they travel to new locations where Chris tempts Mary into extreme activities as often as he can. HOME
