Technology: Internet (museum official site, Perseus Digital Library, Wilkipedia , You Tube) The use of ICT supported my effort to work as ‘guide on the side’ and gave pupils the opportunity to be more productive and end up enjoying the whole process of the project. AIMS/EXPECTATIONS: Work independently and search for information. Support learning motivation and critical thinking. Improve quality of their work and enhance learning. Familiarity with the tools available for educational purposes. Encouragement to present their work in classroom-communication. What was the impact? The cameras allowed students to share work easily and participate in constructive evaluations Students with EAL were able to engage through audio rather than text based content Understanding of the concepts of evaluation and their part of the design process Students able to share their work with home and able to discuss how to make things better Tony Sables Learning Environments Supported by ICT – ‘Moodle’ Dearne Valley College Further and Higher Education: Tony Sables Learning Environments Supported by ICT – ‘Moodle’ Dearne Valley College Further and Higher Education I use Moodle as part of a PLE that adopts a variety of pedagogical approaches. In this way I enable varying degrees of collaboration, software is personalisable , and the locus of control moves away from the institution to the individual. To embed e-learning that is ‘ web-supplemented, web-dependent or mixed-mode’ through the use of 'blended' virtual and physical resources. What was the impact? Moodle provides course content and facilitates communication between different participants engaging in the e-Learning activities.Experience of Online Group Work: Experience of Online Group Work We have the opportunity to discuss in smaller groups Given that we are collaborating online I find the completion of the task more rewarding . This online collaboration improved relations and interaction between peers. The completion of the task became easier and more qualitative. Flexible Use and exchange online recourses immediately The move from individual learning to on-going collaboration allowed me to enhance my experience and improve the effective use of ICTs in education. Collaboration improved my thinking and practice for my assignment. Collaboration allowed me to think about the issues and themes of the 5251 module (content and seminars), and use ICTs. Really emphasized some of the language and technological differences within the group Had to change the outcome several times to fit the technology rather than the needs of the taskGoing forward: Going forward How can teachers be supported to update their methodology and adopt a more student centred approach to learning through the use of technology ? Does innovation in the classroom threaten educators’ role? What do you think the most professional intelligent tutoring system software? Which obstacles, challenges or barriers do you think might discourage use of an LE? What financial challenges do schools face when faced with a generation of youngsters who have significantly higher skills in ICT than the staff?
