Premium member Presentation Transcript Slide 1: A beginners guide By Chris Murray Introduction : Introduction This short film is going to introduce you to some you interesting concepts Some of them you may be aware of But some are brand new and represent an exiting new opportunity with virtually unlimited potential The Early History of the Internet : The Early History of the Internet In the 60’s and 70’s ARPANET connected Libraries, Engineers and Scientists During the 1980’s the newly named, ‘Internet’ began connecting Universities and Government Departments Delphi started in 1992 and was the first commercially available service that allowed consumers (and their wallets) to connect to the internet The Evolution of the Internet as a revenue generating tool : The Evolution of the Internet as a revenue generating tool In the early 90’s, the number of consumers connected to the internet grew rapidly Following closely behind was a proliferation of businesses looking to take advantage of this new sales channel These businesses marketed and sold directly to consumers using their own web-sites Slide 5: The Rise of the Ad-Server An Ad-Server is a company which presents the advertisements of one business on the web-site of another Most Ad-Serving companies are largely unknown But they are responsible for nearly all on-line advertising revenue Google alone earned over 40 Billion NZD in 2008 The mid to late 90’s saw a new type of business arrive on the scene, Ad-Servers Slide 6: Ad-Server and Portals They distribute targetted advertising for businesses with goods and services to sell Advertisers pay a fee to the sites which host the ads that the ad-server distributes For providing these services the ad-server charges the advertisers a fee The Revenue generated from hosting these ad’s allows a whole range of businesses to thrive on-line and for many of them, it is in fact their only source of revenue Ad Servers employ technology to improve value for advertisers by targeting ad’s If a consumer clicks on an add, an additional fee is charged On-line Service Providers : On-line Service Providers Some of the most successful internet businesses of all time don’t sell products at all Instead, they provide services to online customers and charge a per transaction fee They offer these services at a low margin and rely on a large user community to be profitable Web 2.0 and user generated content : Web 2.0 and user generated content Web 2.0 is a term used to describe the second major evolution of the internet It describes a major shift in the content presented on-line This new content includes Wikis, social networking sites, video sharing and blogs It has also lead to a whole new range of technology and web-sites Social Networking : Social Networking To date the biggest web 2.0 revolution has been that of Social Networking Social Network sites enable people to connect with others and share information There are currently over 150 social networking sites boasting 2 billion user accounts So what’s the next big thing for the internet? What is the Real Stew all about : What is the Real Stew all about Real Stew is an online community with difference. Real Stew aims to change the landscape of the internet by achieving the following lofty goals: Build a like minded community which generates and shares its own wealth Deliver an ethical and transparent business model as an alternative to the current corporate model Redefine how on-line advertising is earned and distributed Give members a share in their own internet business Create a worldwide charity promoting and benefiting childhood education How will these Goals be achieved : Leveraging the power of the community for the benefit of all of the members How will these Goals be achieved Recognising and Rewarding the Contributions of the community members Growing a large community Growing the Community : Growing the Community The Real Stew Community will begin in New Zealand growing when friends refer friends Once Real Stew is established in New Zealand it will be rolled to the rest of the world Why will the Community Grow? : Why will the Community Grow? We are confident that we will achieve the expected growth because: The unique ‘user gets paid’ model represents a revolutionary shift in on-line revenue distribution Providing a financial incentive for continuing with existing internet usage habits is a simple yet brilliant idea which any non-technical personal can grasp Members of the community aren’t being asked to give up anything at all The philanthropic goals of the community are well suited to current times There is an existing pool of 2,000,000,000 social network users who will understand and appreciate the value of what REALSTEW aims to achieve Slide 14: Recognising and Rewarding the Contributions of Real Stew Members Setting www.realstew.co.nz as your homepage will enable the team to monitor your revenue earning activities You will be rewarded for every person you refer to the community You will be rewarded for any revenue generating activities completed by anybody in the network within 6 degrees of separation from you You will be rewarded for linking through from Real Stew to sites displaying ad-served advertisements 75% of all of the revenue raised by internally and external activities will be distributed to members What will you be rewarded for? As the community grows and other revenue generating activities are added there will be still more rewards available Slide 15: Where does the Revenue come from? Real Stew will earn external revenue as well as generating its own income Initially, the external revenue will come from ad-servers Internal revenue will come from internal auctions and a service tendering site As the community grows additional internal and external revenue generating tools will be identified and added to the site Slide 16: What risks will you be exposed to? Quite simply, none. You wont have to offer up any more information than you would ordering a pizza online You won’t get spammed, All we ask is that you use the site in the spirit in which it is intended Individuals will never be asked to contribute any money You will never be asked for personal financial details Slide 17: Let’s do some Math How many people will join if you refer 10 people and then they all do the same? Well, there’s you, plus the 10 people you referred, plus the 10 that they referred, so 111 What if this happens 6 times? If it happens 6 times, then the numbers start getting quite big, 1,111,111 But don’t worry though, out of original pool of potential users there will still be 1,998,888,889 people left for your other friends to sign up. This is what is meant by meant by the 6 degrees of separation How does a share of the ad-revenue and internal revenue generated by over 1,000,000 people sound? – Even if it is only 1c each, that’s still $10,000 Slide 18: That just leaves one question.
