To keep pace with the fast changing technology and financial system, the Exchange went On-line in 1996. The Exchange has come a long way since the launch of BEST (Bangalore Electronic Securities Trading), its On-line trading system on 29th July 1996. Members: 244 members , corporate members constitute more than 25% of the total membership Listing: As on 31st May 2009, the number of companies listed on the Exchange are 595 out of which over 300 companies are non-regional companies. Services Centre : Services Centre Investor Services Centre: comprising of Public Representatives, members and Executive Director, who oversee the functioning of the Cell and they take appropriate steps for amicable settlement. To enable the investors at other places to have access to various services, Centres have been set up at Davangere, Hassan, Hubli, Mysore, Madkeri, Mangalore Shimoga and Tumkur. Other centers : Other centers Investor Information Centre: a well equipped Library and Investor Information Centre to cater to varied information needs of investors, corporates members and others. Investment Education Centre: an exclusive investment education centre to cater to the needs of the market participants. This Centre conducts regular and intensive training sessions, seminars and workshops. Trading membership : Trading membership Membership to Bangalore Stock Exchange Limited can be obtained, with the payment of a non-refundable fee of 1 lakh only. BgSE Financials provides Depositary services in both NSDL and CDSL. They presently, offer listing facilities of equity capital for the existing companies in all segments including SME segment. Objectives of listing : Objectives of listing The objectives of listing are mainly to: provide liquidity to securities; mobilize savings for economic development; protect interest of investors by ensuring full disclosures. BENEFITS OF LISTING : BENEFITS OF LISTING Minimum paid up capital and net worth requirements are lesser than the other national exchanges. Newly placed screen based trading platform Free Advisory services on Listing Agreement, Takeover Regulations and Insider trading Regulations. Nominal listing fees.
