How to Enjoy Full Circuit Trek in Torres Del Paine Most tourists to Patagonia prefer the W trek but the full “O” trek is more interesting as well as demanding offering a more immersive Torres Del Paine experience. Enjoy the full circuit by doing it at leisure. If time is a concern then it is better to opt for the W trek of the Torres del Paine in Patagonia Chile but with more time at one’s disposal the ”O” trek or full circuit is the one to take. It is more demanding but also more rewarding. The trip usually starts at Puerto Natales where one joins a local tour operator’s guided full circuit trek to the Torres Del Paine.

With a guided tour operator one can complete the full circuit trek Torres Del Paine either clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. Trekkers usually start at Laguna Amarga and travel anticlockwise until they complete the circuit ending at Grey Lodge on the western side after 8 days of exhilaration in the wilds. A guided trek has so many more attractions to make it enjoyable. Optional make it so much more enjoyable A guide is in charge of the group and takes trekkers to traditional ranches where one can stay in a standard hotel and enjoy warm food and warm beds. The next day morning it is time for some horseback riding and then takes a quick side trip to Laguna Azul. With a guide in attendance each day has something interesting to offer such as excursions on Lake Dickson and the challenging John Gardner pass trek to Camp Grey the highest point of the Torres del Paine park form where the view is simply bewitching. As one proceeds to the “backside” of the circuit one gets to stay in tents in campsites and that is far better than staying in a lodge or hotel.

In order to make the full circuit trek Torres Del Paine absolutely enjoyable there are a few things to keep in mind:  Unless you are an experienced trekker do not set off on your own. If you are a seasoned hiker then the O or Q trip as it is known is one you will truly enjoy if you have more time at your disposal. There are secrets to discover at each camp base. Spend a day or more at each and explore the surroundings. For those in a hurry and with only 8 to 10 days to spare an accompanying guide will point to places of interest along the route and the tour operator will also take care of booking campsites. Travel light—it makes for a more enjoyable trek.  Take a leisurely tour extended over 10 days. Take time off to explore the surroundings at each camp site each time you halt. The trek might take you past Lago Sarmiento. Spend time here and discover what it has to offer. It is the same along other points on the O trek in Torres del Paine. The Grey Glacier is where one should spend at least a day. The view is enchanting from the highest point of the trek and getting to know the wildlife here can be quite rewarding. The same goes for French Valley
