Whether you are new at New England College or you just need help with a project, we welcome you to the library. We are a small building, but we have a lot to offer! The Library…it’s not just books anymore! : The Library…it’s not just books anymore! Danforth Library prides itself on having a range of materials to support research and the creative process. Click on to discover! Databases : Databases The library subscribes to almost forty academic databases where one can find scholarly research articles, e-books, reference materials and newspaper/magazine articles-all online. Newspapers and News Sources : Newspapers and News Sources Danforth has an subscription to the online database “NewsBank: Access World News” where news from around the world can be read, as well as it’s Concord Monitor and Union Leader component. In addition, we also have print and online subscriptions to the Boston Globe, Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times. Periodicals : Periodicals In addition to the journals and magazines that can be accessed through the databases online, we also have a substantial collection available in print in the Considine Periodicals Reading Room. DVDs and CDs : DVDs and CDs There is a small collection of CDs, DVDs and videotapes for your viewing research (or pleasure!) available for check out at the Circulation Desk. And…of course…books! : And…of course…books! Danforth Library has a collection of over 100,000 books, and access to many more through our two library lending consortium memberships; GMILCS and NHCUC. We also have… : We also have… Plenty of services to assist you with your learning needs! Interlibrary Loan : Interlibrary Loan Can’t find a book you want in our library? Found an article you want to read, but it isn’t available in full text? If you are an on-campus student, you can easily request them through the interlibrary loan department by filling out the forms below. To request a book… To request an article… Not on campus? In an online program? Go to the next slide! Interlibrary Loan for Distance Education Students : Interlibrary Loan for Distance Education Students If you are an off-campus/distance education student, we will work hard to make sure that you get the materials you need. Contact us at libraryhelp@nec.edu, or by phone at (603-428-2344), and we will try to locate a copy of the book or article near you. You can also check what materials available in your local library by visiting www.worldcat.org. Tutoring Center : Tutoring Center New England College has a tutoring center located on the second floor of the library. There are scheduled appointments AND drop-in hours available six days a week for a variety of subjects and services. For more info, call (603)428-2276, or email mpashko@nec.edu. And…of course…librarians! : And…of course…librarians! Danforth Library is home to eight librarians who are ready to help you with all of your library needs.
