Literary Elements: 

Literary Elements Elements used in whole works of literature. They are used most frequently to help the reader better understand a work of literature. The literary elements we will look at will be: Onomatopoeia, Alliteration, Simile and Metaphors.

Onomatopoeia: 

Onomatopoeia Onomatopoeia is a word that imitates the sound it represents. Example: splash, meow, honk, boom, buzzed Sentence : The fly buzzed by.

Alliteration: 

Alliteration Alliteration is the repetition of the initial consonant in words that are close together. Examples : Peter Piper picked a peck of peppers. Making the most magical melody

Simile: 

Simile Simile is the comparison of two unlike things using like or as . Examples: Fresh as a daisy Tough as leather Sentence: The willow is like an etching.

Metaphor: 

Metaphor Metaphor the comparison of two UNLIKE things. Examples : He is a pig. I am a rainbow.
