Christmas is the story of the birth of a man… Slide 3: He was promised by the mouth of all the holy prophets since the world began … Slide 4: “For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given…And His name will be called wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:5-6) 700 years before His birth, the prophet Isaiah proclaimed, Slide 5: 700 years before His birth, the prophet Micah proclaimed that He would be born in Bethlehem… “But you, Bethlehem…out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.” (Micah 5:2) Slide 6: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel [God with us]” (Isaiah 7:14) 700 years before His birth, the prophet Isaiah proclaimed that He would be born of a virgin… Slide 7: Christmas is the day that God became man… “For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form” (Colossians 2:9) Slide 8: “She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21) He had one purpose for coming to the earth… “For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God…” (1 Peter 3:18) Slide 9: He was born to die… “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45) Slide 10: He died so that we can live… “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24) Slide 11: His Resurrection from the dead gives us hope… “and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins” (1 Corinthians 15:17) Slide 12: He ascended to His throne in heaven… “God exalted Him at His right hand as [Lord] and Savior, to give repentance…and forgiveness of sins.” (Acts 5:31) Slide 13: He will return to judge the living and the dead… “…God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.” (Acts 17:30-31) Slide 14: Jesus is the one and only way to heaven… Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) Slide 15: Those who repent and believe in Jesus will be saved but those who don’t will be punished… Jesus said, “Whoever believes…will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark 16:16) Slide 16: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand.
