ATTRIBUTES OF GOD – SESSION 10:

ATTRIBUTES OF GOD – SESSION 10 Logos Educators Network

Attributes of God:

Attributes of God God’s Sovereign Work in Creation Creation is that free act of God whereby he, according to his sovereign will and for his own glory, in the beginning brought forth the whole visible and invisible, without the use of preexisting materials, and thus gave it an existence distinct from him and yet always dependent on him.

Attributes of God:

Attributes of God God’s Sovereign Work of Revelation As in creation, so in revelation, the initiative rests with God. Revelation is the sovereign work of God by which he reveals himself to all persons at all times and places so that they may come to know that he is and what he is like.

Attributes of God:

Attributes of God God’s Sovereign Work of Redemption The sovereign work of God whereby he accomplished and applies salvation to those who believe on his Son. The initiative of redemption belongs to God. In regard to redemption, God acts with complete freedom and decisive effect.

Attributes of God:

Attributes of God The Covenant of Redemption (between the Father and the Son) is the eternal plan of God, established before the foundation of the world. God’s redemption moves from eternity to eternity as reflected in the order of salvation .

Attributes of God:

Attributes of God God’s Sovereign Work of Judgment Judgment is the sovereign work of God, who is righteous and just, in which God passes judgment on the lives of humankind.

Attributes of God:

Attributes of God Because God is the only infinitely wise, omniscient, just and merciful being, judgment only belongs to him. Humans are commanded not to judge. Judgment belongs to God alone. God, the Son, will play an active role in the work of judgment.

Attributes of God:

Attributes of God Elements of God’s judgment. All people will be judged: the living and the dead, believers and non-believers at Christ’s return. Judgment will be according to works . The final judgment will be a moment of division between those who are revealed to truly belong to Christ and those who do not. The criterion by which people’s destinies will be determined will be their relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
