A little bit of history... :
A little bit of history... The giants from Prats de Lluçanès were made in Solsona in 1986
The builder was Manel Casserres
Their names are Vicenç and Àgata
They are carried by La Colla Gegantera from Prats de Lluçanès
They have been in many different places from Catalonia and Spain
The giant Vicenç :
The giant Vicenç Vicenç is 3'52 meters tall
He weighs 48'5 Kg
He always wears a black hat, a white shirt and a black cape
He never leaves his almorratxa which is a special cup with lotion inside that smells like roses
The giant Àgata :
The giant Àgata Àgata is 3'45 meters tall
She weighs 38 kg
She always wears a black skirt with flowers, a black waistcoat, a flowered veil and a white shirt
She has a beautiful ring and a white tissue
What are they made of? :
What are they made of? They are made of wood structures with a layer of cardboard and plaster, all coloured with special paintings
Say hello to “big heads” :
Say hello to “big heads” Big heads, also called capgrossos, are heads made of cardboard and plaster
They are sometimes carried by children and they dance with the giants
Let's do a celebration :
Let's do a celebration The giants dance along the streets jumping and turning around
A man called geganter gets into the giant and carries him or her
The music is traditional Catalan music played by grallers whose instruments are gralles and percussion ones
The dance from Prats is called trencadansa
