Meeting Dedication :Meeting Dedication Brown V Topeka Board of Ed. In the early 1950’s there were 5 separate cases known collectively as the School Desegregation cases: Briggs v. Elliot (South Carolina) Bolling v. Sharpe (DC) Gebhart v. Belton (Delaware) Davis v. County School Board of Prince Edward County (Virginia) Brown v. Topeka Board of Education (Kansas) Some claim that Brown was one of the least important of the cases, but because it was first on the Supreme Court’s docket, the other cases were issued under Brown

Brown vs. Board of Education :Brown vs. Board of Education This case- issued by Linda Brown against the Board of Education of Topeka sought to end segregation in publicly funded schools. The team of lawyers who argued the case included: Jack Greenberg, George Hayes, Howard Jenkins, Thurgood Marshall, James Nabrit, Louis Redding, Frank Reeves, Spotswood Robinson III and Simpson Tate. On May 17 1954, the highest court in the land ruled UNANIMOUSLY in favor of Linda Brown.

Brown vs. Board of Education :Brown vs. Board of Education The Supreme Court concluded: “We conclude that in the field of public education the doctrine of ‘separate but equal’ has no place” This overturned the previous verdict of Plessey v.
