Solving Proportions:

Solving Proportions 4 = p 8 100 Cross multiply: 4 x 100 = 8 xp 400 = 8p Solve for p 4 00 = p 8 P = 50%

Example::

Example: What percent of 162 is 90? Part = 90 Whole = 162 90 = p 162 100 Cross Multiply 90 x 100 = 162 xp 900 = 162p Solve for p 900 = p 162 P= 56%
