Levers Baseball Bat- My arm is the fulcrum which provides the effort used to hit the ball. I located it in my baseball bag.
Faucet handle- Pivots on a fulcrum which turns a valve to let the water out. I located it in the kitchen
Inclined Planes- :
Inclined Planes- Ramp- Allows heavy objects to move up and down using less effort over a greater distance. Located in driveway.
Fan- Blades on fan push air along their slanted surfaces. Located on ceiling
Wheel and Axles- :
Wheel and Axles- Bike Tire- Helps reduce friction and allows the bike to move around easily. Located on Bike
Door Knob- Knob rotates on axle which unlatches the door. Located on door
Pulleys- :
Pulleys- Shoe Laces- They reverse the direction of force and pull the shoe tightly around your foot
Flag Pole- The rope is attached to the flag which raises and lowers the flag
Wedges- :
Wedges- Knife- Slices through food. Located in kitchen
Door Wedge- Holds the door in place. Located by door
Screws- :
Screws- Jar lid- The lid tightens on the jar with a screw. Located on jar
Bolt- You twist the bolt into place and it fastens the object
Compound Machine- Wheel Barrow :
Compound Machine- Wheel Barrow Wheel- wheel and axle- helps move heavy objects from place to place
Handle- lever- allows you to lift heavy objects with less work.
Bucket- inclined plane- helps put the weight of the load in the best place
Compound Machine- Stapler :
Compound Machine- Stapler Top arm of stapler is a lever, when you push down it transfers energy into a staple.
The actual staple is a wedge- it pierces through the paper
