My favourite Inventions!

Slide 2: 

Photography - 1826 By Nicephore Niepce . The significance of the photography invention, meant that people could now record still images of people, places and things. An invention that we are still exploring, even capturing photos beneath the sea!

Slide 3: 

TYPEWRITER - 1829 By William Burt. The invention of the typewriter is significant because it allowed people to put their writing and thoughts into print. It was the means of recording text before the invention of the computer.

Slide 4: 

Sewing Machine 1846 By Elias Howe. Long gone are the days where people would sew with bones using hand woven materials! The invention of the sewing machine allowed people to tailor and adjust their clothing, with a piece of machinery that can last years.

It revolutionized the daily lives of people how they transmitted messages. The system was the first to convert sound, specifically the human voice. The radio was initially known as ‘Wireless telegraphy.’ The discovery of radio waves allowed songs and speech to be transmitted through the air. There is nothing better than turning up the volume of a good song, and thanks to this invention that was made possible! RADIO 1901

STAINLESS STEEL - 1913 By Harry Brearley Before the invention of Stainless Steel, people had to use carbon steel knives which were prone to unhygienic rusting or sterling silver cutlery which was ridiculously expensive. The invention of stainless steel allowed a hygienic form of cooking and eating for people.

TELEVISION - 1926 By John Logie-Baird. Originally only in black and white, televisions gave the World a form of entertainment they could not only listen to, but also watch. With an overwhelming amount of channels and programs in today’s culture, you’ll never be bored again!

BALL-POINT PEN 1938 By Lazlo and Georg Biro. In 1938, people could finally put down their feather and ink, thanks to the invention of the ball point pen! Since the initial development of the humble pen, a variety of new pens have been created! Scratch-n-Sniff, Glitter Pens, Gel Pens, Fluro Pens and different colours of the rainbow can now be found in most stationary shelves!
