Shape Poems :
Shape Poems - A shape poem is a concrete poem that forms a picture of the topic or follows the contours of a shape that is suggested by the topic.
- Shape poems do not need to rhyme.
Step 1 :
Step 1 Choose a topic
Giraffes
Water
Circles
Sun
Table
Hands
Computers
Step 2 :
Step 2 Write a poem about the topic of your choice.
Hands
My hand reaches for you
My hand shakes your hand
My hand holds you tightly
My hands help you climb the hill
My hand pulls you to the top
My hand waves to the people below
My hand waves goodbye
Step 3 :
Step 3 Arrange the lines of your poem to create the actual shape of your topic
Step 4 :
Step 4 Mount your shape poem on construction paper and display around the classroom for others to enjoy!
