Six habits of Social Entrepreneurs:

Six habits of Social Entrepreneurs Not just Entrepreneurs BUT social entrepreneurs

Social Entrepreneurs are…:

Social Entrepreneurs are… f They are successful because of their habits. Bad habits are hard to over come, but we can build good ones that will make us successful. Here, then, are the six habits of highly effective Social Entrepreneurs.

Habit 1: Develop solutions…:

Habit 1: Develop solutions… They don’t just seek financial support verbally. They speak with actions- coming up with new solutions. Especially those that break patterns and change systems… They are always asking “how can things be better?”

Habit 2: They measure outcomes:

Habit 2: They measure outcomes If I am helping others, are they healthier, richer, happier, more skilled or educated, etc ? If I am helping the environment, is it cleaner, more protected, more biodiverse , etc.?

Habit 3: Establish change models:

Habit 3: Establish change models Change requires process, not just product. So you need to establish and validate change models. Your formulas for change… Needs to be repeatable and s calable.

Habit 4: Practice Inclusion:

Habit 4: Practice Inclusion They’ve learned the hard way to create change WITH not FOR. They design and implement solutions WITH input and involvement of beneficiaries. They even involve beneficiaries as owners, employees and evangelists.

Habit 5: Leverage assets:

Habit 5: Leverage assets They know that investors don’t fund Ideas. They fund results. So the key to initial success is not BUSINESS PLANS. It’s the connections around you. Assets are: Resources, people, skills, resources, networks, and organizations. Use success to build more success.

The difference between entrepreneurs…:

The difference between entrepreneurs… Just as entrepreneurs change the face of business, social entrepreneurs act as the change agents for society, seizing opportunities others miss and improving systems, inventing new approaches, and creating solutions to change society for the better . While a business entrepreneur might create entirely new industries, a social entrepreneur comes up with new solutions to social problems and then implements them on a large scale.

Habit 6: Think Long-term:

Habit 6: Think Long-term Real changes stands the test of time, that means solutions need to last. They ask themselves, what solutions do we need 10 or 20 years into the future?

Quotes… If you want to go fast, go along. If you want to go far, go together. ~African Proverb~

~Teddy Roosevelt~:

~Teddy Roosevelt~ Do what you can with what you have where you are.

~ Confucius~ If you think in terms of a year, plant a seed; If in terms of 10 years, plant trees; If in terms of 100 years, teach the people.
