I think that you have a lot of good points but I have to disagree with you on a few different areas. One big area I disagree with you is that feminism is now harming women and relationships. Feminism has taught women to have an undeserving sense of entitlement (in all races) and has destroyed many relationships in not only the USA but most Western countries (and some very civilized Asian countries as well). I think the problem with Black Americans is something more closely tied to how they focus on their 'blackness' so often. There isn't any other group of people on earth that have as much stigma (even Black Africans or Black British) when talking about race issues. At the same time 70% of Black American women are single but the statistic isn't true in other parts of the world for other Black women. So one has to start deducting what's different and why. Black American women have issues that they need to address by evaluating themselves in an open minded context.

Defining feminism for THE CONFUSED!!! PT 2 :

Defining feminism for THE CONFUSED!!! PT 2 You know me I LOVE to bust MYTHS…a lot of black men AND WOMEN are GROSSLY misinformed what exactly what “feminism” is so I’ve made this informative powerpoint to clear the ish up.

More over… :

More over… Most of the major feminisms is NOT to replace the system of white supremacy/patriarchy with matriarchy but rather a more “equal” system that does not value LESS the “woman” as a person. Some black men have said that the so-called nubian family is now in the system of matriachy…this is INCORRECT. Matriachy means that the women’s role is MORE valued over the man’s and be HONEST we KNOW THAT ISH is NOT TRUE!!!

On the subjugation of WOMANISM :

On the subjugation of WOMANISM Womanism is the “negro” version of feminism for “black women” Its greatest advocate is Alice Walker, a black woman from the US. She wrote the book In Search of Our Mother’s Garden: Womanist Prose giving her opinion of feminism from a women of color’s perspective. She also addressed racism and classism in this book and critiqued white liberal feminism.

WHY I AM NOT A FEMINIST/WOMANIST :

WHY I AM NOT A FEMINIST/WOMANIST The most ACTIVE/MOST POWERFUL TYPE OF FEMINISM IS LIBERAL FEMINISM. It can be said one of its main founders in Mary Wollstonecraft, an elitist white woman who lived in the early 18th century. I don’t subcribe to this ideology because is what WHITE WOMEN came up and it has been HISTORICALLY even PRESENTLY is CLASSIST AND WORSE RACIST towards people of COLOR (none-white women). Because of the nature OF ITS FOUNDATIONS it has MOSTLY benefited middle class white women.

WHY I AM NOT A FEMINIST/WOMANIST continued :

WHY I AM NOT A FEMINIST/WOMANIST continued Feminists in general can’t even AGREE of a definition of what they are most of the time! Other reasons I don’t like feminism is AN IDEOLOGY and you know me I DISLIKE most ideologies and “all-inclusive” bodies of thought. I’m somewhat of a “free thinker”, I don’t like commitment to “somewhat ridge beliefs” Nor do I agree that women are superior to men and vice versa.

WHY I AM NOT A FEMINIST/WOMANIST continued :

WHY I AM NOT A FEMINIST/WOMANIST continued Lastly, women of color and other melinated women in general have ALWAYS been “feminists” in a way: black women have almost always HAD MULTIPLE ROLES and have NOT always been restricted to the destiny of motherhood. These days black women HAS SEVERAL OPTIONS: she can have a career, choose to have children or NOT and if she wishes she can CHOSE NOT/ GET MARRIED.

The effects of feminism…on black families? :

The effects of feminism…on black families? I will have to say the effects of feminism on black women are significant (more women on the job force etc) but like I will state it is NOT single-handedly responsible for the mess the state of black families. I blame also the high incarceration rate of black men for instance, classism, racism that exist in the north american societies and well frankly the FAULT of PEOPLE themselves to an extent.

My feminist-like principles :

My feminist-like principles Women have the right to work, play, marry or not. Women don’t need men to reassure them as human beings…although a loving understanding, one would be wonderful. Men shouldn’t control women like dogs or as moveable objects and vice versa. Men are women are not equal but similar. Women should be paid the same as men if the do the same job or similar. Women should have the right to marry who she wants.

In conclusion… :

In conclusion… I did this to clear the air it seems the overwhelming majority of people I’ve EVER met don’t understand because they are satisfied on definitions based on PURE IGNORANCE. I hope you learned something from me as always luv luv and peace. Cherriesandicecream
