My theory… The reason feminism is SO WIDELY feared is because people OFTEN FEAR what they DON’T UNDERSTAND and ARE QUICK TO JUDGE IT based on lose STEREOTYPCIAL definitions given by the media (TV, NEWSPAPERS, INTERNET, MAGAZINES). Even word of mouth creates more foolishness. Ignorance BREEDS FEAR! And MOST HATE THE UNKNOWN because it brings UNCERTAINTY. I myself am guilty of judging on stereotypes LOL forgive me people :)

My second theory: the strong black woman syndrome In my personal opinion the strong black woman rhetoric from black women mostly is a DEFENSE mechanism for INSECURE black women. People who believe and are CONFIDENT in their independence do not always have to voice it out…WHY? Because they ALREADY believe it!

There are SEVERAL feminisms Unknow to the average person feminism is NOT a single ideology but like any political system of thought it has its moderate and radical elements. There are three main “feminisms”: Liberal feminism, Socialist/Marxist (economic) feminism and radical-lesbian feminism. Most people are ONLY familiar with radical/lesbian feminism because that is what is taught through the MEDIA that plays ever the important role of defining and DEMONIZING sorts of “peoples”.

In addition… Feminism is NOT a unified body of ideologies as I have listed at least three of the feminisms that exist, there are DOZENS!!! Even the different type of feminists can’t come to agree on many things…How can an UNUNIFED BODY singlehandely destroy the nuclear familiy (black or white???). They aren’t ALL TO BLAME FOR THE “so-called” destruction of the nuclear “negro family”: I ALSO BLAME capitalism/material greed, the government (YES I SAID IT) and INDIVIDUALS THEMSELVES.
