World War II Doubts about the war December 7, 1941 – Japan attacks Pearl Harbor and Pacific islands of Guam, Midway and Wake. The Battle of the Coral Sea – Japan´s push South-Eastwards was blocked. The Battle of Midway ( 4 - 7 June 1942 ) – USA crushes Japan, turning point in the war.
World War II:
World War II D-Day (6 June 1944)– The Allied forces( 3 million men) crossed English Channel to Normandy. The Battle for Leyte Gulf (23–26 October 1944) – Decisive victory for the United states. Atomic bombs to Nagasaki and (August 1945) Hiroshima September 2, 1945 – Japan surrenders.
