CSS Beginnings W3C recommend use of CSS in 1996 Level 1.0 -replaced the traditional font tag and other "style" markup such as color and margins Work continued 1998 CSS level 2.0 – replaced positioning including table tag for positioning Level 2.1 in use now Work Level 3.0 continuing
