What does it take to be a leader? : What does it take to be a leader? Leadership is two-fold The base = your core values. Many of which the psychodynamic approach says is from family (particularly parents). The rest are developed and nurtured over a lifetime by other external factors. Actions – are dictated by those values and used on a situational basis based upon the followers needs. Core Values : Core Values Are a set of Characteristics that the leader embodies.
