Technology plays an important role in modern industrial society Technology will help prepare students to succeed in a rapidly-changing world. Technology integration supports the goals of education reform. RATIONALE : RATIONALE Proper Technology planning allows a district to: Obtain grant or other state and federal funds allotted for such Save money through bulk purchasing Avoid crises Streamline staff use and support of technology “Schools that effectively use technology need a carefully designed technology plan that is a part of the overall strategic plan. A technology plan that is not integral to the overall improvement plan is likely to be short-lived.” (Cradler, 1996) THE PLANNING TEAM : THE PLANNING TEAM An effective team includes all stakeholders in the district, representing all parties responsible for using and implementing technological resources throughout the district. The support of key administrators and influential teachers is critical to the plan's implementation and success. Members should have knowledge and experience, and expectations of the role of technology in their school.
