I’ve dealt with depression (still dealing with) and this poem basically sought out e verything that many people have felt while through their depression stage. Not everyone can really say they’ve gone through depression unless they have experienced t houghts such as these, though that is my own personal opinion. I feel like this poem could definitely describe the way my mind sometimes thinks. I feel like this poem was well written, sort of like the poet knew what he was talking about, He has probably gone through these types of feelings in the past or he could very well be still going t hrough them today. But then again he could’ve done some studies about this kind of topic, o r knows someone who has experienced them their selves. But we’ll never know. (I would kind of agree that it is option one.)PowerPoint Presentation: Anger Fills My Hear & Soul Anger fills my heart & soul Anger takes a mighty toll Anger lessens but can never leave Anger you hope to never receive Anger stays forever within Anger Acts with the might of all sin Anger is deadly to all around Anger gets mad at the thought of sound Anger is the thoughts in my head Anger that’s mine all should dread Anger for me is different from you Anger you see tells me what to do Anger will sit & whisper in my ear Anger he sits & tells me what you fear, Anger… He is here He’s here to stay Anger is the hole In which we lay Anger is & Anger will Always be with us. He is in me, & he is in you He can make you do What he wants you to Anger will make you Make you cry Anger can make you Want to die. Anger can make you Go insane Anger… A blood filled rain No more anger No more…. Walk to the bright light Shinning through that door… Not knowing what’s in store But even then Anger lives on But you… Nevermore. -Jacob HillPowerPoint Presentation: Anger Fills My Hear & Soul Anger fills my heart & soul Anger takes a mighty toll Anger lessens but can never leave Anger you hope to never receive Anger stays forever within Anger Acts with the might of all sin Anger is deadly to all around Anger gets mad at the thought of sound Anger is the thoughts in my head Anger that’s mine all should dread Anger for me is different from you Anger you see tells me what to do Anger will sit & whisper in my ear Anger he sits & tells me what you fear , Anger … He is here He ’s here to stay Anger is the hole In which we lay Anger is & Anger will Always be with us. Red - Repetition of anger emphasizes the theme of the hurt or feelings in which every person can Experience at some points in their life. Blue - Personification Green – Negative words that describePowerPoint Presentation: Personal Response Though all of the poems I have chosen are about hurting inside, I feel like this was a great topic t hat I have chosen I can really relate to almost all the poems. This poem I also enjoyed a nd thought was pretty impressive. I have recently just noticed I kind of have an anger p roblem, but then again I don’t really show it because I don’t want to be that way around others i t mainly only shows when I am in my families presence. But anyway back to the poem, I enjoyed how this poet had written this poem he included lots of rhyming words, t o me everything he had mentioned I felt like I could understand it all, it also tells about how a nger can cause destruction to the human feelings, how anger can actually end ones life.PowerPoint Presentation: Just Get Over It “Just get over it,” they say I wish I could fin a way Living with it day by day Memories won’t go away Medication helps to sway Many feelings of dismay But they do fail to decay The loss that one does survey. -Udiah (witness to yah) Unforgotten Memories These cement walls They pierce the ground To crying sorrows And the black bird’s sound Unforgotten memories Of a life now gone -Brad James (infamous poet)PowerPoint Presentation: Disingenuousness Here lies another box for nature, Carbon ready; Black to eyes down here, Where death is at its job. Up there you’ll hear a rhythmic sob, Or two from living yet-to-dies- A Humming lacrimoso- It all but cleans the eyes: Forget it- The dismal show of grief- Life is only chemistry- Our stay is only brief. It’s we who hype it up! Diaphragms jerk again; The jet monotone of hearses Feeds the disingenuousness Of undertakers- They seem to stare at something up ahead- For them, it’s in the blood. To taxi off the dead. -Mark R. Slaughter Things aren’t always as they seem, even appearances.PowerPoint Presentation: It’s death again – He’s always there- Watching, waiting – ere the stare! Every time I look behind Or reach to pull the window blind, I catch a glimpse of grubby hood- A little clue to where he stood; The glint of light that caught the scythe. Perhaps if I could pay a tithe… But O no use, he’ll never go. The adamant phantom; don’t you know He will but wait until it’s time For me to hear his fateful chime?- The toll that claims my destiny, To hail: “you’re Next, it has to be…” -Mark R. Slaughter It’s Death AgainPowerPoint Presentation: Personal Response Mark R. Slaughter is a fabulous poet, he has produced to fantastic poems about many different h urting topics. I would probably have to say, he is one of my most favorite poets as on right now. Many of his poems make me sit there and I can’t even stop reading them, they are so good! I just love how his poems have a bit of a dark side to them, they are all interesting and of course There is about a poem or two of his that I don’t quite understand but yet they definitely mean Something. Most of his poems are like mini stories, like the one called “It’s Death Again” that one Was a bit of a story is you think about, at least to me anyway.PowerPoint Presentation: Pain Pain Pain over here pain over there Pain in my heart pain in my soul Pain in my mind Pain in my skin pain in my bones Pain being caused left and right Pain being caused till the heart bleeds red Pain being caressed till the skin and bones rip Pain being caused till you break into tears Pain at school Pain at home Pain in my head pain in my heart Pain in my mind pain in my soul Pain happening in my sleep Pain happening in my thoughts Pain happening when I’m alone Pain happening in the shower in my room, I n my bed, in my house, where I’m all alone Pain happening every hour every minute every second of my life Pain caused by anger and hate Pain caused by hurt Pain caused by greed Pain caused by sorrow and depression Pain caused by grief and confusion Pain caused by your family and friends Pain caused by the world Pain caused by the people you love Pain driving me crazy Causing me to take pills till it fills up my veins I go to sleep never to wake up and see the light The light that will end my pain for good! -Brittney KeithPowerPoint Presentation: Personal Response The poem Pain by Brittany Keith she talks about pain being everywhere in her bones, sleep, etc. She also mentions a light at the end of her poem that takes away all her pain. Of course I understand That she is talking about death. This poem makes me stop and look at myself thinking, “this is exactly how I feel… This is how I feel in my life.” Pain I think is also a part of out lives….. I wouldn’t exactly state that I like pain, but then if there wasn’t Pain we would be like the Who’s in Who’s-Ville. We would be happy and not hurt all the time. Well actually wouldn’t that e much better than experiencing pain…. Perhaps it is, but then again that Isn’t really how our lives can be dealt with, no matter what there will always be pain, Brittany gives You examples of how you can feel, what pain is like for a lot of us.PowerPoint Presentation: Mirror With everything happening today You don't know whether you're coming or going But you think that you're on your way Life lined up on the mirror don't blow it Look at me when I'm talking to you You looking at me but I'm looking through you I see the blood in your eyes I see the love in disguise I see the pain here in your pride I see you're not satisfied And I don't see nobody else I see myself I'm looking at the Mirror on the wall, here we are again Through my rise and fall You've been my only fan You told me that they can understand the man I am So why are we here talkin g to each other again Oh, I see the truth in your lies I see nobody by your side But I'm with you when you re all alone And you correct me when I'm looking wrong I see that guilt beneath the shame I see your soul through your window pain I see the scars that remain I see you Wayne, I'm looking at the... There's always some reason To feel not good enough, And it's hard, at the end of the day. I need some distraction, Oh, beautiful release. Memories seep from my veins. Let me be empty, Oh, and weightless, And maybe I'll find some peace tonight. In the arms of the angel, Fly away from here, From this dark, cold hotel room, And the endlessness that you fear. You are pulled from the wreckage, Of your silent reverie. You're in the arms of the angel, May you find some comfort here. So tired of the straight line, And everywhere you turn, There's vultures and thieves at your back. The storm keeps on twisting. Keep on building the lies That you make up for all that you lack. It don't make no difference, Escape one last time. It's easier to believe in this sweet madness, Oh, this glorious sadness, That brings me to my knees. In the arms of the angel, Fly away from here, From this dark, cold hotel room, And the endlessness that you fear. You are pulled from the wreckage, Of your silent reverie. When you’re tired of living & playing this game? When you know your life is meaningless & you’re the only one to blame? What do you call it when the hurt is in your soul? When you smile & laugh but you know it’s all a show? When you feel like you’ve hit your all time low? When nothing makes you happy & the darkness around you grows? What do you call it when you feel so alone? When you’re in your house but it don’t feel like home? When you look back in your life & every choice you made now seems wrong? When the wait to die seems too long. -Destinee Stone You do not have the permission to view this presentation. In order to view it, please contact the author of the presentation.
