Slide 2:

Water heaters are a crucial part of any home because they provide heat to clean things all over the house, whether it helps with laundry, dishes or even you and your loved ones. A leaky water heater can not only cause you to have to replace it, but also can also cause damage to other parts of your home, costing thousands in repair. If you’re in San Marcos and think your water heater has a leak, you should follow these steps.   Turn off the power supply. If it’s a gas water heater, you should turn of the gas before you start any other inspection. Even if it’s an electric water heater, you should still shut off the power in case any water is heating.

Slide 3:

Turn off the water supply. The best way to stop a water heater leak is to make sure that there is no water supply going through it. However, be careful to avoid getting burned by the scalding water from the hot water heater, which can cause first degree burns.   Try to determine the source of the leak. If the water is leaking from the drain valve, it’s just a matter of replacing the valve. However, if the leak is coming from inside the tank, there’s a more serious problem and an expert should be called right away.

Slide 4:

A leaky water heater may need a simple repair or at the worst case scenario, may need replacement. Regardless, leak detection in San Marcos is available here .
