Refuting Blab it & Grab it Prosperity Preachers! :

Refuting Blab it & Grab it Prosperity Preachers! A brief refutation of the various false teachings of the Rhema word of faith movement one by one! False Teaching #1: Misuse & Abuse of Romans 10:9

Rhema Preachers twist Romans 10:9 & 10 :

Rhema Preachers twist Romans 10:9 & 10 Romans 10:9 is the most favorite verse in the entire Bible for the blab-it and grab-it prosperity preachers and they are very much obsessed by it. Rhema preachers have a shrine built for Romans 10:9 in their brains. Word of faith preachers think that Romans 10:9 is a “magic formula” to get eternal life.

Abuse of Romans 10:9 :

Abuse of Romans 10:9 When the word “salvation” is mentioned in the Bible most of the times it is NOT used in the sense of receiving eternal life or justification . More than 95% of the time the word salvation in the Bible refers to some sort of physical deliverance from sickness or death or our enemies.

Abuse of Romans 10:9 continued … :

Abuse of Romans 10:9 continued … When Peter was sinking into the water he said to Jesus “Lord save me!”. When the boat was about to sink the disciples called out to Jesus “Master save us…” It was not from hell but a temporary deliverance! Romans 5:9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Salvation in this verse is available for those who are already saved.

Justified but Unsaved?!?! :

Justified but Unsaved?!?! The prosperity preachers fail to see that Romans 10:9 is prescribed for Christians who are already justified! It means they imply a justified Christian will remain unsaved and go to hell if he/she does not confess Jesus as Lord!!! What a theological non-sense! Remember Jesus warned about blind leading the blind!!!

What is Justification? :

What is Justification? Justification is God’s act of declaring a sinner as righteous because of his/her belief in Jesus. Justification is mentioned in a forensic (legal) sense in the Bible and it is usually known as the imputed righteousness. Will God send a person to hell after declaring a person righteous just because he/she has not confessed Jesus with the mouth? It is ridiculous!!!

Justification Vs. Regeneration :

Justification Vs. Regeneration While justification is positional, the actual act of transforming the inner being is called as regeneration a.k.a imparted righteousness. Rhema preachers dismiss the miracle of regeneration as a mere feeling based experience!!! Justification is the most endangered doctrine in our modern day Christianity and Rhema preachers are spearheading that!

20th Century Prophet A.W. Tozer on Justification & Regeneration! :

20th Century Prophet A.W. Tozer on Justification & Regeneration! We may also erroneously assume that we can experience justification without transformation. Justification and regeneration are not the same; they may be thought apart in theology but they can never be experienced apart in fact. When God declares a man righteous He instantly sets about to make him righteous. Our error today is that we do not expect a converted man to be a transformed man, and as a result of this error our churches are full of substandard Christians. A revival is among other things a return to the belief that real faith invariably produces holiness of heart and righteousness of life.

John Wesley, the founder of Methodism on Romans 10:9 :

John Wesley, the founder of Methodism on Romans 10:9 http://www.ccel.org/ccel/wesley/notes.i.vii.xi.html?scrBook=Rom&scrCh=10-10&scrV=9-9#i.vii.xi-p0.2 9. If thou confess with thy mouth - Even in time of persecution, when such a confession may send thee to the lions. 10. For with the heart - Not the understanding only. Man believeth to righteousness - So as to obtain justification. And with the mouth confession is made - So as to obtain final salvation. Confession here implies the whole of outward, as believing does the root of all inward, religion. John Wesley never used Romans 10:9 to “lead” some one to Christ! Wesley’s notes in bright blue.

According to Rhema standards John Wesley was a feeling follower!!! :

According to Rhema standards John Wesley was a feeling follower!!! "I felt my heart strangely warmed. I felt I did trust in Christ, Christ alone for my salvation, and an assurance was given me that he had taken away my sins, even mine, and saved me from the law of sin and death." The accent here is upon what John Wesley felt as he received the operations of the Holy Spirit in his soul of warming his heart and giving him the good news of salvation. When John Wesley speaks of a feeling in the heart he means not only an emotion or affection but also a perception or sense of the soul of the action of God. http://www.flumc.org/bishop_whitaker/salvation.htm This is going to drive the prosperity preachers crazy!!!

The Great Reformer John Calvin on Romans 10:9 :

The Great Reformer John Calvin on Romans 10:9 And surely, he who is justified has already obtained salvation: hence he no less believes with the heart unto salvation, than with the mouth makes a confession.  ... excerpt from Calvin's commentary on Romans 10:9! http://www.ccel.org/ccel/calvin/calcom38.xiv.ii.html

The Prince of Preachers Charles H. Spurgeon on Romans 10:9 :

The Prince of Preachers Charles H. Spurgeon on Romans 10:9 Now, mark that the connection of our text assures us that being righteous we are saved; for what does it say here, "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." He who is justified is saved, or what were the benefit of justification? Over thee, O believer, God hath pronounced the verdict "saved," and none shall reverse it. You are saved from sin and death and hell; you are saved even now, with a present salvation; "He hath saved us and called us with a holy calling." Feel the transports of it at this hour. "Beloved, now are we the sons of God." http://www.spurgeon.org/sermons/1325.htm

Salvation Army founder Gen. William Booth prophesied about Rhema Bible College! :

Salvation Army founder Gen. William Booth prophesied about Rhema Bible College! “The chief danger of the 20th century will be religion without the Holy Spirit, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and heaven without hell. Gen. Booth’s “positive confession” indeed yielded results! He should have been more careful before making such statements -LOL

Famous Canadian Missionary Leader Oswald J. Smith asks questions on regeneration! :

Famous Canadian Missionary Leader Oswald J. Smith asks questions on regeneration! You have gone to an inquiry room but are you a new creature? You have accepted Jesus but has God saved you? We are living in an age where people are getting converted without getting regenerated. They are believing without receiving!

Don’t follow these drive by prosperity theologians! :

Don’t follow these drive by prosperity theologians! Friends you have just learnt how great men of God in Church history did not use Romans 10:9 to win souls. They did not even “know” the so-called Romans road! The moment they read Romans 10:9 they immediately understood that a justified person is already a save person. Salvation in Romans 10:9 is about the salvation over the power of sin as we confess the Lordship of Jesus!

Victory over the power of sin, the actual message of Romans 10:9 and 10 :

Victory over the power of sin, the actual message of Romans 10:9 and 10 We all know when we praise God with our mouths power is released. Praise is a form of confession but praising God is not prescribed in the Bible to get eternal life but it saves us from difficult earthly situations. Assume that someone is oppressed by demons. Having faith in the heart alone is not sufficient to cast out demons. Only a mouth confession releases the power of God in that situation and brings salvation (deliverance). You’ve gotten the picture now!

Who can call upon the name of the Lord? :

Who can call upon the name of the Lord? In Romans 10:13 Paul quotes Joel 2:32 which says that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. If we were to do a study of the Old Testament idea of calling on the name of the Lord, we would see that it basically is the same idea as confessing Christ.  Calling on the name of the Lord in the Old Testament was something that only Old Testament believers could do. Nobody who was an unbeliever would call on the name of the Lord. Calling on the name of the Lord was a public form of worship where the Old Testament saint identified himself with the one true God in heaven.

Early Christians in Action! :

Early Christians in Action! Ironically Apostle Paul who wrote Romans did not say to the Philippian jailer to confess Christ as his Lord or to utter the unbiblical “sinner’s prayer”. Paul did not follow this so-called Romans road. Acts 16:31 Philip, the evangelist did not ask the Ethiopian eunuch to confess Jesus as his Lord but simply said “if you believe with all your heart...” Acts 8:37. Again Philip did not follow the Romans road like the Rhema preachers!

Faith Plus Something = Perverted Gospel :

Faith Plus Something = Perverted Gospel Confessing Jesus by our words and deeds is not a requirement for salvation from hell. Rather, it is a requirement for salvation/deliverance from God's wrath here and now. We can be closet Christians by simply believing in Jesus and have eternal life but we cannot be victorious Christians by keeping our mouths shut about Jesus.

Assurance of Salvation – Inner Witness is not simply a feeling! :

Assurance of Salvation – Inner Witness is not simply a feeling! According to the Westminster Confession of Faith, there are three pillars of assurance of salvation: the promises of God's Word, the works which the Holy Spirit produces, and the inner witness of the Spirit to the believer. All three of these witnesses are viewed as necessary in order for one to be reasonably confident of his salvation. Rhema Bible Institute has only one pillar, that is the magic formula Romans 10:9 and according to them the witness of the Spirit is simply a “feeling”. What a distorted view of new birth and contradicts Romans 8:16 which is about the witness of the Spirit.

Who is a feeling follower? :

Who is a feeling follower? After asking the unbelievers to utter that unbiblical “sinners prayer”, prosperity preachers tell the new “converts” not to walk by feelings but by faith! Can we find an example for this in the entire Bible? Believing in feelings by itself is not wrong but if we ONLY believe in our feelings they can mislead. Holy Spirit communicates to our spirit using inner feelings, the feelings in our spirit and they are genuine but the feelings in the realm of our emotions are not ALWAYS true.

Prosperity Preachers Always walk by feelings! :

Prosperity Preachers Always walk by feelings! These perverts always instruct others not to walk by their feelings but by faith. But what they preach is a “feel-good” gospel using seducing words that stirs up feelings of Christians to give them money . If Christians know how to follow their inner feelings rather than their outer feelings then these prosperity preachers cannot deceive them anymore.

Light Requires Sight – A.W. Tozer :

Light Requires Sight – A.W. Tozer Is receiving Christ under our command and control? Can the miracle of new birth be triggered by our confession? When Adam and Eve sinned their inner most beings (spirits) lost communication with God. How can a human being jump start his/her spirit to connect to God by a simple confession of the mouth? Gospel is light but unless the Holy Spirit gives sight no one can get saved and we cannot determine that moment.

How can a human being respond to the Gospel? :

How can a human being respond to the Gospel? Acts 16:14 as it reads in the NASB under the heading of "First Convert in Europe": A woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshiper of God, was listening; and the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul. Acts 16:14. Only the Holy Spirit can impart saving faith!

Who is the author of our faith? :

Who is the author of our faith? Rhema preachers teach that faith is a law and God is bound by that law and if we confess with our mouths God is obligated to release blessings on us. They ignore Hebrews 12:2 which states Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. We cannot author our own faith! We can’t cast a tree into ocean!

Is saying Jesus as Lord is alone is sufficient – What about repentance? :

Is saying Jesus as Lord is alone is sufficient – What about repentance? Matthew 7:21 - "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter”. Will the Romans 10:9 magic formula override Matthew 7:21 ?!?!?!?!

Rhema Preachers Ignore The Possibility of a Heartless Confession! :

Rhema Preachers Ignore The Possibility of a Heartless Confession! Matthew 15:8 - These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Isaiah 29:13 - And the Lord said, because this people come near to me with their mouths, and give honor to me with their lips, but their heart is far from me, and their fear of me is false, a rule given them by the teaching of men. Then how can the word of faith preachers take it for granted that a simple mouth confession indeed results in salvation. Where is the fruits of repentance from dead works?

Blabber Grabbers Make I Corinthians 12:3 A Lie! :

Blabber Grabbers Make I Corinthians 12:3 A Lie! I Corinthians 12:3 - Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit. So the work of the Holy Spirit within the human spirit is a pre-requisite to confess Jesus as Lord and it is NOT a condition to get the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Again perverted gospel by reversing this order.

Conclusion :

Conclusion Salvation in Romans 10:9 and 10 is not about the salvation from hell as taught by Rhema Bible Institute but it is a salvation over the power of sin! Friends, word of faith preachers don’t have any credibility and lack doctrinal integrity. Can you remain “unsaved” after God declares you righteous?

Must Read… :

Must Read… Book titled Born After Midnight, Chapter 2, The missing witness by A.W. Tozer http://lovestthoume.com/BornAfterMidnightMenu.html Nowhere in the Bible it is stated that we need to confess Christ in order to get justified. The gospel of John never mentions about confessing Christ to get eternal life. Don’t believe in man made rules!!!

Future Slides From Blab it and Grab it Productions… Romans 10:9 is not the only scripture that is perverted by Rhema. Slide shows with other Rhema topics like Jesus went to hell, God bound by the law of faith, prosperity for every believer in any condition, lack of faith for not healed and many more will be released in the future, God willing!
