The Falklands War is the constant war between the United Kingdom and Argentina. The dispute is about who gets the sovereignty over the Falkland islands. In 1982 the United Kingdom set of to war with Argentina for the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands, Britain had won. But till this day Argentina believe that they should have sovereignty.Where are the Falkland Islands?: Where are the Falkland Islands? The Falkland Islands are in the South Atlantic. They are 350 miles off the Southern tip of Argentina, 8,000 miles from Britain. The weather is cold and the Falkland Islands are quite barren, supporting more sheep and penguins than people. In 1982 the population of the Falkland Islands was 1,800.Why did this happen?: Why did this happen? In March 1982,the Argentinians landed in the Falkland islands. They claimed it was theirs, but Britain never took the claim. The they declared war for the island. Meanwhile Argentina are still uprising.Our view: Our view In conclusion we think that the island is Britain's because they are the rightful owners. Just because the Island is close to Argentina does not mean it is theirs. Spain were originally the owners of the Falkland Islands and gave it to Britain for peace. Which makes it Britain's.
