The results indicate that the water quality improvement agent rerduces the amount of culturable E. coli in water, and coincide with a previous study that also shows that the water quality improvement agent (Vivatap), reduces the bacterial count (Aanonsen, 1999). This effect has two possible explanations:

THIS IS HOW YOU USE VIVATAP® 1.Fill the pitcher or bottle with water from the tap – one to two liters. We recommend inserting the vivatap®-teabag into the water vertically, using one of the corners to cut through the water suface, in order to make the sachet sink down to the bottom. (The sachet does the same work even if it is “hanging” in the water suface, but it then more easily will follow the water into your glass when you pour – that’s why we suggest inserting the teabag vertically and to the bottom).

2. After inserting the teabag, use a fork, spoon or alike to stir vigorously in the water for 4-5 seconds, making the sachet circulate in the water. PS. You are not supposed to stir more; vivatap will not work better if you stir for a longer time, 4-5 seconds is suitable. 3. Leave the jug resting for at least 5 – 10 minutes, on the bench or in the fridge (depending on if you like to drink cold or tempered water). The advantage of putting the water on the bench, could be that you and other people in the house will start wanting to drink this tasty water once you see the pitcher. This means that the general intake of water will increase, which, of course, is very positive.

4. You may well use the spoon or fork and remove the sachet after 10 minutes or so, or you may leave it in the container up to 24 hours. Which is best, depends on your taste and also on the water quality where you live (basic mineral content etc.) The vivatap® tea-bag is to be handled as organic waste (food garbish).

5. If you start using vivatap® with a special focus on health improvement (psoriasis, rheumatics etc) you should be consequent in consuming a couple of liters of vivatap® water every day. You should also use vivatap® in other waterbased drinks you enjoy, like coffee, tea or juice. You can also put a vivatap®-bag in the pot when cooking greens, potatoes etc. – the teabag sustains boiling water and works very well in it. Also be aware that some few people may go through a period with physical reactions, like stomach-sickness, headache etc. – because their cells for a long period have stored acids and waste products, which vivatap® now starts purging out. Such symptoms are uncomfortable but harmless, they will usually decrease after 2 – 4 weeks and then disappear.
