Teen Drama : 

Teen Drama Concerned with striking and entertaining balance between social issues that are concerned with age group. Issues such as; Eating disorders, bullying, sex, rape, infidelity, money, college, work, family, puberty.

Hollyoaks : 

Hollyoaks Less ‘shocking’ than skins. Represents ‘real’ life issues Light hearted issues contrast real life problems Audience appeal is between 15-30 Holloyaks (2006)

Hollyoaks : 

Hollyoaks Produced by Lime Pictures the soap series started in 1995. Devised by Phil Redmand (brookside, grange hill) Only soap to use incidental music.

Sugar Rush : 

Sugar Rush Teen drama based on novel by Julie Burchill BAFTA Nominated comedy drama series. Televised August 2005 on E4 DVD release 2006 Set in Brighton Plot: 2 best friends who’s friendship can be classed as dysfunctional. Kim is a lesbian Sugar, a self confessed sex addict. Trials and tribulations of their lives in College.

Sugar Rush: Characters : 

Sugar Rush: Characters Kimberly Daniels: 15 year old sexually obsessed with her best friend Maria Sweet (Sugar). Has a dysfunctional family as caught her mother committing adultery. Relies on Sugar for support. Maria Sweet: 16 year old self confessed ‘sex addict’ who is Kim’s best friend. Represents the ‘untouchable’ on Kims behalf. Is unreliable and also has a dysfunctional family.

Slide 8: 

Stella Daniels: Kim’s mum who is somewhat similar to sugar. Unreliable, has affairs and doesn't act like a mother Nathan Daniels: Dad who is reliable and ‘boring’ according to Stella. Keeps the family together. Saint (series 2): Lesbian who Kim falls in love with. Doesn't get along with Sugar and is more mature than both Kim and Maria. Owns a sex shop.
