The photograph shows a natural oasis in the Moroccan part of the Sahara, the largest desert in the world. Here, the water table is close enough to the surface for vegetation to develop and grow. Some artificial oases have also been created, even in the most arid parts of the desert. OASIS

In Assam , it rains heavily. Hence the houses are made ten to twelve feet above the ground .They are made on strong bamboo pillars .The inside of these houses are made of wood.

In Rajasthan rainfall is very scarce .It is very hot too. The people live in mud houses. The walls of the houses are very thick. These walls are plastered with mud. The roofs are made of thorny bushes.

Zululand is a region of South Africa along the eastern coast. The traditional architecture here consists of “beehive” houses constructed of layers of thatch covering a framework of wooden strips. These houses are usually laid out in a circle. There are many variations of this type of architecture in other parts of Africa

In the past, the Inuit were chiefly a nomadic people who hunted for sustenance and followed their game’s seasonal movements. Although many Inuit now live in fixed settlements throughout Nunavut, a territory in northern Canada, some maintain their traditional hunting customs. Pictured here is an Inuit standing next to his summer igloo, a tent made of walrus or seal hides.
