Typical patients: Recovering MI’s, Cath lab procedures, post cardiac surgeries, regular medical patients needing to be on telemetry, CHF, arrhythmias, hypoxia, pneumothoraces

Spontaneous Pneumothorax :
Spontaneous Pneumothorax Aka “simple”
Def’n: air entering the pleural space through a breach of either the parietal or visceral pleura. Usually is the result of a ruptured bleb or blister on the surface of the lung. Air (from the airways) then enters the pleural cavity.
Whole lung, or portion collapses
Not trauma related
