Evolution/history of the piece of equipment you chose (or in other words, how has this piece of equipment changed through the years). Soccer Ball: According to historical references and legend, early balls range from human heads, stitch up cloth, animal and human skulls to pig or cow bladders. In 1836, Charles Goodyear patented vulcanized rubber. By 1900, bladders were made with stronger rubber and could resist heavier pressure.  Most balls formed by that time used rubber bladders. The balls were made from inner tubes covered with heavy brown leather. Cleat: Heavy rain accompany by high winds with severe frosts and snow did not deter the new game from being played. Flooding frequently arise followed by an strange hot summer which pioneering players took in their stride. Players wore long laced boots, similar to engineer's boots but with a strengthen toecap in iron hard leather.
