JOHN PAUL II I decided to write about the POPE because he was a wonderful man who did a lot of good things and gave a lot of examples to make this world better. John Paul Was born in a small Polish town (Wadowice) 50 kilometers from Krakom. On May 18,1920. His real name was Karol Jozef Wojtyla. He was the youngest of three children born to Karol and Emilia.

Slide 2:

He was baptized on June 20,1920. In the Parish church of Wadowice by Fr. Franciszek Zak. John Paul II made his first communion at age 9 and was confirmed at 18. John Paul II 12 years old.

Slide 3:

When Pope John Paul II rode through St. Peter's Square on May 13, 1981, the Feast Day of our Lady of Fatima. A man that was in the public looking shot the Pope 3 times at point blank range. Later he gave to the world the biggest lesson and example that we already know--forgiveness.

Slide 4:

John Paul II: I think that he was one of the best of all the popes that the people love because four days after the shooting, while he was still in a critical condition, the pope forgave his assailant. The absolution was repeated in 1983 during a visit to the prisoner’s jail cell in Rome.

Slide 5:

John Paul died on April 2,2005. At the age of 84 years. The cause was a heart attack. John Paul left us a great example about the pardon.
