The initiative was introduced during the August 2011 Fair Audit. : APPLICATION For commercial trade application, transmitter has security switches: Transmitter security switch enables the users to write-protect all configurations and calibration parameters. When transmitter security is set, the transmitter meets security requirement for custody transfer. SMART TRANSMITTERS’ : SMART TRANSMITTERS’ Commonly used ‘Smart Transmitter’ in NLNG Rosemount, Model: 3051. Cont… : Cont… Rosemount, Model:1151 SETTING THE TRANSMITTER SECURITY SWITCH : SETTING THE TRANSMITTER SECURITY SWITCH The write-protection switch is for transmitter security The transmitter security is controlled by the write-protection switch/jumper located on the circuit side of the electronics housing. Setting the write-protection switch to the ‘ON’ position prevents users from modifying parameters. That means Transmitter will not accept any “changes” to its memory. Configuration changes, such as digital trim and deranging, cannot take place when the transmitter security is ‘ON’. Cont… : Cont… To enable configuration of data in the transmitter, simply return the write-protection switch to the ‘OFF’ position. If transmitter security adjustment is not installed, the transmitter will operate normally with the default security ‘OFF’.
