The PowerPoint 2007 Page Setup group equips a user with Slide Orientation control to display a PowerPoint presentation in Landscape mode (the default) or Portrait mode. The Portrait mode is used to print the slides on transparency masters and project them with an overhead projector, or present the slide show on a computer screen with a portrait orientation. The Landscape mode is used when you want to edit your content, present it to audiences or to view video. This mode maximizes the slide for a better view.

Slide 3: 

Select Design tab, go to Page Setup section, click Slide Orientation dropdown where you can choose either Landscape (the default) mode or Portrait mode.

Click the Page Setup button in the Page Setup group and the dialog box appears on the screen for extra control over your presentation’s page setup.

Slide 5: 

With Slides sized for drop-down list, you can set the size of the slides. The common size is that of a standard computer screen aspect ratio 4:3. Other options are suitable for wide-screen displays, standard sized paper, different screen ratios or 35-mm slides.

Width option sets a custom width for the slides. Height option sets a custom height for the slides.

Orientation option enables you to set the orientation to the slide as a portrait or landscape. For handouts, notes and outline, you can set the Portrait as an option. For editing or viewing, you can set Landscape orientation.
