Open a blank presentation access the View tab, in the Presentation Views group click Slide Master option.

You can customize layouts by locating Blank Layout in the thumbnail list of layouts below the slide master. Personalize the layout by adding text-specific and object-specific placeholders.

Modify the placeholders of your choice in the layouts by selecting Master Layout group, clicking Insert Placeholder and then choose the type of placeholder you want.

You can remove an unnecessary built-in slide layouts right-click each slide layout that you wish to delete and then click Delete Layout on the shortcut menu.

You can select from available design templates or theme-based colors, fonts, effects and backgrounds provided by PowerPoint and many pre-built themes could also be found on Office Online.

You can set the page orientation for the slides. Go to Page Setup group, Click Page Setup or select Slide Orientation and then click either Portrait or Landscape .

You can add text to the footer in the slide by accessing Insert tab, click Header and Footer which opens a dialog box. Go to Slide tab, check the Footer check box and then type the text in the center bottom of your slides.
