Premium member Presentation Transcript Slide 1: How can you insert Charts in PowerPoint 2007?Slide 2: Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 provides you with various options to make your presentations interactive and customized. One of the options can be to insert charts to the PowerPoint slideshow. Tap on this great way to help your audiences visualize trends and patterns. Convey the key message to them through visually appealing graphics. Hence, instead of using uninteresting and unclear tables, insert vibrant charts with PowerPoint 2007.Slide 3: Steps to add a chart within PowerPoint 2007Slide 4: Select the Insert tab of the Ribbon in the Illustrations group, then click on Chart button .Slide 5: Alternatively, you can insert a slide with a layout that contains a content placeholder and click Insert Chart icon. Insert Chart Select the chart category you want in the left side of the dialog box. PowerPoint offers 11 chart categories. Each category provides different charts for different information.Slide 6: Column - You can compare values in different categories against one another, usually over time. Data is displayed in vertical columns. Line – It examines how values fluctuate over time. Data is displayed in a set of points connected by a line.Slide 7: Pie – You can compare values as percentages of a whole. (Similar to a doughnut chart). Bar- This chart compares values in different categories against one another, usually over time. Data is displayed in horizontal bars. (Similar to a column chart).Slide 8: XY Scatter – The chart compares different numeric data point sets in space to reveal patterns and trends in data. (Similar to a bubble chart, except the data appears as points instead of bubbles). Area- It examines how values in different categories fluctuate over time, and see the cumulative change in values. (Same as Line chart, except the area between the lines is colored in). Stock – This chart is used to track stock prices, air temperature and other variable quantities. It shows how the value of an item fluctuates, as well as its daily, weekly, or yearly high, low, and closing price.Slide 9: Surface – It examines color-coded data on a three-dimensional surface to explore relationships between data values. Doughnut – It shows how values compare as percentages of a whole. (Similar to a pie chart, except you can use more than one data series and create “concentric doughnut rings” in the chart). Bubble - It examines data relationships by studying the size and location of the bubbles. They are often used in financial analyses and market research. (Similar to an XY scatter chart, except you can use three instead of two data series, and the data points appear as bubbles). Radar – It shows data is plotted on radial points from the central point. This kind of chart is often used to make subjective performance analysis.Slide 10: Each category has several chart variants — select the one you require. If you can't find relevant to your interests, choose the one that's closest to your requirements. Click Ok to insert a chart.Slide 11: Office Excel 2007 opens in a split window and displays sample data on a worksheet.Slide 12: In Excel sheet, click on cell to replace the sample data to type the data you want.Slide 13: After you update the worksheet, the chart automatically replaces data in PowerPoint. Make changes to the chart by right-clicking over the body of the chart and selecting Edit Data option.Slide 14: Double click on the chart and you access chart-editing mode with three additional Chart Tools tabs displayed on the Ribbon.
