How is adding soundtrack useful to your presentations? Microsoft Office PowerPoint allows you to add soundtrack to the presentations to make it more creative and innovative. Add audio track from a variety of sources such as web, CDs or even record your own sound. The best digital formats for use in PowerPoint 2007 are WAV and MP3 files, but MP3 format can be linked and not embedded. The PowerPoint allows you to attach sounds to different objects on a slide. A presentation designed to run unattended can be made interactive by including a soundtrack along with pictures and text on the slide.

Slide 4:

Inserting audio track with ‘Sound From File’ option

Click Insert tab, go to the Sound button and click on its dropdown.

Choose Sound From File option to open an Insert Sound dialog box. Select the sound file which you wish to insert and then click on Ok tab.

Go to Animations tab, click Custom Animation button and a window ‘Custom Animation’ appears showing the inserted Sound Clip on the right side.

Select Effects tab, go to Stop Playing section and click After Slides radio button to enter the number of slides which means you want to play music till the entered number of slides.

Go to Timing tab, open the Repeat dropdown to select the number of slides you want to play the sound. Then click Ok .

Inserting sounds using the Clip Organizer Again go to the Sound dropdown, select Sound from Clip Organizer to open the Clip Art task pane.

Insert sound from Play CD Audio Track Click on the Play CD Audio Track option and Insert CD Audio window opens where you can set the play timings or select display options. Save the changes by clicking Ok .

In the Name option, type an appropriate name for your sound. Once you have finished recording click Stop button and to hear the recorded sound click Play . When you are ready for recording the sound click Record button, click Ok .
