Waves By: Andrew Tangen

Parts of a Wave:

Parts of a Wave The Top of a wave is called the Crest. The bottom of a wave is called the Trough. The Distance from one Trough to another Trough is called Wave Length. Amplitude (or loudness, size of pressure, differences) usually measured in decibels. Frequency (or pitch) is measured in cycles per second, (or Hertz).

Sound Waves:

Sound Waves Sound waves use energy to move. We hear sound through our ears when someone is talking to us. We cannot however hear the sound waves but, there really there!

Combining Waves:

Combining Waves A high pressure from one will cancel out a low pressure from the other. two high pressures will reinforce each other. two low pressures will reinforce each other.
