3G spectrum license :
3G spectrum license India has 22 telecom circles (service or licensed area) each representing nearly a state.
The telecom circles are categorized as Metro, category A, category B and Category C.
Metro circles are Delhi and Mumbai
Category A circles are Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Gujarat.
Category B circles are Kolkata, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh(E), Uttar Pradesh (W), Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal.
Category C circles are Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Orissa, Assam, North East and Jammu & Kashmir.
Total 71 slots (frequencies) has been auctioned among private operators and 22 slots were given to state owned Telco's who has to pay the equal final bid amount to Govt for the respective circle.
