What are music institutions?:

What are music institutions? They are the companies that fund and create the music videos consumers watch. The main three music institutions are:

Warner music group:

Warner music group Warner Music Group is an American multinational entertainment and record label conglomerate. The company owns and operates some of the largest and most successful record labels in the world, and are known for signing big artists such as Ed Sheeran, Linkin Park and Jason Derulo.

Sony music:

Sony music Sony Music is a global recording company who have a international distribution network which enables music artists to promote their music in different countries around the world, and essentially broaden their fan base. They have signed a broad array of both local and international superstars. Sony Music is a subsidiary of the well known ‘Sony’ corporation. However, Sony Music has subsidiaries of its own, such as; Columbia, RCA, Black Butter etc.

Universal music group:

Universal music group UMG own and operate a broad array of businesses engaged in recorded music, music publishing, merchandising, and audio-visual content in more than 60 countries. They identify and develop recording artists and songwriters, and produce , distribute and promote the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful music to delight and entertain fans around the world.
