We indeed have a vault under our shop and when the trapdoor is opened and the little winding stone stairway is revealed it becomes a magnet for those with wild and fertile imaginations, usually the young and the young at heart. www.artyfax.com

This phenomenon is repeated in historic houses, castles churches and abbeys up and down the land where secret staircases, passageways and secret rooms are the favourite places. The buildings are often magnificent but it is the secret vault that so often is the most magical place. www.artyfax.com
